As part of his plea bargain, Thomas agreed to provide information to prosecutors about other illegal activity he had to the government.
Thomas is scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday.
But documents filed into the court record say that Thomas met twice with authorities and, during the second meeting, “indicated he did not wish to `rat’ on anyone and that his father and aunt did not wish him to be a ‘rat,”‘ according to a Nov. 13 letter from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
So does God want Oliver “I’m an instrument of God” Thomas to protect persons who are engaged in illegal activity? Don’t pretend to get all religious on us and then protect your corrupt buddies Oliver! God don’t like that!
Then there’s Richard Roberts of ORU.
As Becky points out, when allegations of Roberts’ extravagant spending at ORU came out, Richard said God told him to deny the allegations.
Looks like we’ll finally get a water bill. We sent our estimated amount in for several months just so that when we did get a water bill we wouldn’t have to take out a loan. Then they sent us a notice to stop paying until they read the meter.
When I came home yesterday, this is what I saw. Guess they found the meter and finally decided to read it. I can’t wait to see the bill!
During their annual meeting Nov. 12-13, Georgia Baptists voted to condemn Baptist Bloggers when “it is used to cause division and disharmony among the members of our Southern Baptist family…. All personal attacks should cease immediately … [we] call upon bloggers to cease the critical second-guessing of these elected leaders; and be it further resolved that all Georgia Baptists respectfully request and expect that individuals who disrupt the fellowship through blogging repent and immediately cease this activity and no longer cause disharmony for the advancement of their own personal opinions and agendas.”
Far be it for anyone in Baptist life to engage in personal attacks! Seems the present leadership doesn’t like when people question their character or actions. Where were all of those who care about unity when friends of mine were being crucified unjustly and labeled and fired?
If I was a Republican, here’s who I’d vote for. This guy could come out of nowhere. If he does, watch out. He’s funny, a good speaker, and seems to have more of the Republican qualities than Rudy Giuliani.
BTW, don’t bash anybody in the comments section. I’m not endorsing Huck. My guy is probably not going to get anywhere. Here’s a great video from him though. Start at about the 5 minute mark:
This videohas been both controversial and very popular. It was produced by a 17 year old high school student from New Orleans. The video questions the objectivity of the American Society of Civil Engineers report of the levee failure that caused the Federal Flood after Katrina.
It was among the top-viewed videos on YouTube last week, with at least 27,000 page views, Sandy Rosenthal said.
“I told them, yes, we’d take it down, but our Webmaster is 17 years old and is on a field trip and out of town,” Rosenthal said Tuesday. “That same youngster is going to be honored this week with the outstanding youth and philanthropy award of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.” The student she is referring to is her son.
I’ve made a terrible mistake lately. I’ve let other New Orleans Bloggers write about the issues related to New Orleans. I’ve done this because I didn’t want to be redundant and seem like I was copying off of their posts. Plus, many of them are a whole lot smarter and funnier than I am.
Today I reviewed my stats and realized that my audience is not composed primarily of New Orleanians. Thus, I will begin to meore faithfully include stories that impact me so that my readers outside the Crescent City will be informed.
Just got the news that the theme for Barkus this Mardi Gras season will be: Adventures of Indiana Bones: Raiders of the Lost Bark
