I’m with Editor B, with so many lies from Bush about how he would take care of the Gulf Coast after Katrina, I can’t trust Bush. Not to mention the WMDs, the cakewalk in Iraq, punishment for the one who “outed” Valerie Plame, etc.

It would be insane to think that a man with no grasp of reality could accurately describe the state of our union and figure out how to fix what’s wrong with it unless the problem is that corporations need a handout and the rich are overtaxed.

Guys: Don’t Pee Sitting Down!

This sermon is about how men need to Pee standing up! KJV lovers are kinda wacky! Some folks give me a hard time about my use of Acts 9:5. Well, listen to this guy who rails about how the Bible teaches men to be real men. You can show this by peeing standing up.

Sorry Shirley, looks like you’ll need to start looking before you go!

Once again we did Barkus with the Homan’s and Keith and Jeffrey. This year we left Chloe home since she doesn’t really enjoy it. We had a great time! I’m really tired and sore. I’m getting too old for this!

BATON ROUGE — Gov. Bobby Jindal will pay a $2,500 fine for violating the state’s campaign finance disclosure laws, rather than wait for a public hearing before the state ethics board to determine if a violation occurred, his spokeswoman said Thursday.

The Louisiana Board of Ethics was looking into whether to fine Jindal for late disclosure of more than $118,000 in campaign aid he received from the state Republican Party when he was running for governor last year.

The board had scheduled a public hearing on the matter for July 10.

But Melissa Sellers, the governor’s press secretary, said Jindal intends to pay the fine rather than dispute it in July.

“We’re going to pay the fine and move on, move forward,” she said.

The issue comes only weeks before Jindal calls lawmakers to the state Capitol for a special legislative session on ethics reform. The governor campaigned on a platform of transparency in government.

Jindal amended his campaign finance report in September after an ethics complaint claimed the Republican candidate should have reported direct mail sent on his behalf by the state GOP as an “in-kind” contribution to his campaign.

Holy Smokes! Say it ain’t so! This can’t be true! Bobby, you campaigned on ethics reform! How could your campaign not be ethical? I’m SO SHOCKED. What’s next? A family values Louisiana Republican found sleeping with a hooker?

john_prine.jpgJohn Prine is coming to Jazzfest! After last year’s crowd I was thinking I might pass on Jazzfest for a while. Or at least just hang out in the Gospel Tent. There’s a pretty good lineup this year so I might have to save a few bucks and go. He’s one of the best songwriters around, and not a bad theologian either.

Some humans ain’t human, some people ain’t kind….

See y’all there!

Nice job John! You’ve figured out a way to use your homophobia to slam democrats! What a genius!

I’ll admit that I watched this show last night just to see what it was like. Someone will end up dead as a result of this show. It’s horrible. I do not understand how persons who call themselves Christians can watch Fox News or any of it’s trashy programs.

God help them!

Not to mention Bill O’Reilly slamming an abused child…

Dang Liberal Culture!
January 23rd, 2008 under humor, Mardi Gras, violence. [ Comments: 1 ]

gun.jpgThis week I was looking for a toy gun to carry in Barkus. I’m going to be Indiana Jones so I needed a large toy revolver. We went to Toys R Us and they had none (Dang Liberals!) I was hoping since it was in Metairie, they would have guns. A truckload of tanks and Army gear, but no pistols. Of course Wal-Mart had one, but it was very small and since I’ll be parading with Homan I chose to look elsewhere. I found one at BigLots but it was still a bit small.

It’s a darn shame that this liberal culture of ours has taken pistols out of the hands of our children! It’s also not fair to tease them with tanks, bazookas, and what not that they may never be able to use!

Guns are not dangerous. I mean, I use my BB pistol to shoot the barking beagles that live behind us all the time. Since I’m an excellent marksman, I can shoot them in the butt almost every time! That way it doesn’t really hurt them.

NOTE: The above is only satire. I don’t like handguns and am a strong advocate of gun control. Shirley won’t let me shoot the beagles.

Racist or Stupid?

Last night while I was at church, someone was passing the above picture around and slamming Obama. My wife, tried to explain why Obama did not have his hand over his heart. The person dismissed her (bad idea) and kept showing it around the church.

I usually don’t confront things like that because I don’t like to be dismissed and I also know that folks who engage in this kind of thing often have their minds made up before hand and only use this stuff to reinforce their view.
What’s Bush trying to say?
However, the real problem with this kind of thing is that it’s so evil and dishonest. Anyone with a brain would know that a serious presidential candidate would never intentionally do anything unpatriotic. Obama’s explanation seems pretty logical to me. I’m not an Obama supporter, but I give him the benefit of the doubt here.

According to the comments I heard about the picture I believe there are two underlying reasons persons like to attack Obama. One is that, maybe I’m tainted because I was raised in the South, many people in this country simply won’t vote for a black man for president. The second is that there is such hatred and paranoia of Islam that some can be swayed very easily.

I know my reflections are fairly obvious, but it’s just so depressing that the “Christian” family can be so easily frightened and is still so racked with bigotry. I’m getting to the point where I really hate to go to church. I don’t hate those who are bigots. I honestly like the people in my church. It’s just a real shame that many of them would hate me if they really knew what I believe. So much for grace and love.
