If There Is a Hell… |

No I’m not talking about Adrastos! In fact, as someone who has been labeled a heretic, I don’t joke about hell. But if anyone deserves to go there it’s Stacey Jackson, former director of NOAH. Lee Zurich and Karen Gadbois have been exposing the corruption in the city-run Non-profit (yeah right!) that has milked the recovery effort and given the city a black eye.
Here’s the real kicker! Christian teenagers have been coming down here for years to gut houses and help our citizens rebuild their lives. The bad part of that is that today’s Times-Picayune article, which has been WAY behind the curve on this thing, informs us that NOAH contractors actually got paid for work that these sweet kids did to make our city a better place.
Holy Crap! Somebody better get on their freakin’ knees right now. As I said above, I don’t take this lightly–but somebody better get ready to fry like a sausage in hell! You *&^%$@’s better be looking for asbestos wetsuits because you’re going to be treading water on the lake of fire for quite some time for this!
Damn. I hope Stacey and the Board of NOAH go to jail for a long time for this.
Vitter and Craig to Rescue Marriage! |

You have got to be kidding me!
What’s next, an ethics bill from Jefferson?
Larry Craig and David Vitter — “two United States Senators implicated in extramarital sexual activity†— have named themselves as co-sponsors of S.J. Res. 43, the Marriage Protection Amendment. If passed, the bill would amend the Constitution to declare that marriage “shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman.â€
Reflections on Krewe du Vieux Remix |

Ashley’s blog entry about obscenities reminded me of something I need to write about. Ashley links to a story about Shell making $75 million a DAY! Funny how the oil companies don’t mind destroying our coast and our politicians don’t hold them accountable.
Anyway…Back to obscenities. A few weeks back, I was invited to walk with the Krewe du Vieux in spite of my post last year. It shows what a good sport those folks are. Unfortunately, because of the short notice (I had accepted an invitation to fill in earlier in the week, but it fell through) I didn’t want my wife to be stuck driving at night or sitting at home so I had to decline. Maybe in the past I would have been hesitant to join such a rowdy bunch. However, even though the Krewe has been criticized as obscene, I think that much of the graphic stuff they display is warranted. The Krewe is engaged in satire. They really don’t have a difficult job finding stuff to make fun of around here.
Three points must be made in order to understand the value of what Krewe du Vieux does. Maybe most importantly, it lets us and the people they satirize know that the corruption, incompetence, and vulgarity of the political scene that relates to us does not go unnoticed. Vitter’s repeated visits to a prostitute while arguing for “family values†might have only appeared in the papers a few times and on TV news a few times, but we have not forgotten! The graphic images of Krewe du Vieux only depict how obscene Vitter’s actions are. Maybe it’s not appropriate for the media to graphically depict what went on, but that doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be a venue for that. The second point is that KdV captures the obscene way that our “public servants†act. Thus, it must be demonstrated in an “obscene†fashion. Thirdly, KdV serves as an outlet for our frustrations. I really can’t explain how good it makes us feel when those who take advantage of their position, or simply don’t care about us are revealed for who they truly are! Vitter…we know what you are. Jordan, Blanco, Nagin we know what you are. FEMA, etc. we’re not stupid!
Thanks Krewe du Vieux for helping us vent!
Jesus Is Rollin’ |

Luke 9:23-24 (NIV) Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.”
Don’t think this is what Jesus meant…
They see me rollin’
And tryin’. to catch me ridin’. dirty.
These $1,100 rims courtesy of DUB are called Blessinem.
If Jesus was in a grave, he’d be rollin’ in it right now!
20Looking at his disciples, he said:
“Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God.
21Blessed are you who hunger now,
for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who weep now,
for you will laugh.
22Blessed are you when men hate you,
when they exclude you and insult you
and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.
23″Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their fathers treated the prophets.
24“But woe to you who are rich,
for you have already received your comfort.
25Woe to you who are well fed now,
for you will go hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now,
for you will mourn and weep.
26Woe to you when all men speak well of you,
for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets.
